During the last Texas Legislature Arnold Public Affairs assisted its client, the Texas Parent Teacher Association, in passing legislation to require children all children under the age of 8 and under 4 feet, 9 inches tall to be in child safety seats when traveling in motor vehicles.
The statistics and studies overwhelmingly show that children not traveling in safety seats are more likely to suffer injuries or die in motor vehicle accidents .Under the previous law, safety seats were required only for children under age 5 and under 36 inches in height.
